Lorraine qualified as a Solicitor from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, QUB in 2010. She began her career working in family and criminal law before encompassing general litigation into her career path. Lorraine joined Diamond Heron in August 2025 in the litigation team working in both plaintiff and defence cases.
Lorraine’s vast and varied background in law gives her a great depth of experience that she readily applies to her day-to-day practice. She is industrious and known for her ‘straight up’ approach.
With experience working within the High Court and County Court jurisdictions, Lorraine also has experience in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. This experience over a number of years has resulted in good relationships with professional colleagues and government agencies, where she is highly regarded for her attention to detail and fair approach to matters.
In 2022 Lorraine took a three-year secondment to act as Solicitor to a Public Inquiry, this was the latest in her Public Inquiry experience having previously represented a number of bodies in other such Inquiry’s.
Lorraine also to a large part has worked in Judicial Review and governance cases and has maintained her previous criminal law experience by representing clients in fatal accident and regulatory compliance cases involving the Health & Safety Executive NI. Her wide-ranging knowledge of criminal matters makes her a key asset in client preparation for PACE interviews, as well as her technical knowledge on discovery and expert evidence. Lorraine presents regularly to local Council’s and major manufacturing employers in Northern Ireland on workplace accidents and HSENI regulations and compliance, including updates on recent case law and legislative guidance.
Qualified as an Advanced Advocate since 2014 undertaking a great deal of her own court work, Lorraine is an exceptional advocate with excellent oratory skills. She is well thought of among both the judiciary and her professional colleagues. Lorraine has the confidence to represent her clients robustly, ensuring a fair and thorough process is adhered to.
Lorraine has been a member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Children Order Panel since 2014, on the panel of the Children’s Court Guardian Agency NI (formerly the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency) since 2016 and Solicitors Panel of the Central Authority of Northern Ireland since 2018.
Aside from her daily practice Lorraine is also an Executive Member of the Council of the Law Society Northern Ireland wherein she Chairs the Human Rights and Equality Committee.
