Facebook users in the UK can now appoint a representative to decide what will happen to their profile after their death. The so-called 'legacy contacts' feature allows the appointed administrator to write a final post and update photos, and download the deceased's public profile as an archive. However, the administrator will not be given access to private messages. Alternatively, people can instruct Facebook to permanently delete their account after their death.
